Haoua's work is rooted in a trajectory marked by displacement. Of Chadian and French origin, she grew up in Dakar. She inherits a nomadic culture from her family history, and this heritage runs through her practice like a deep structure.
She develops research imbued with a culture of movement and transformation. The body is seen as a mobile territory, carrying lived and social memory. It is structured by the idea of a double skin: a biological skin, intimate and embodied; and a social skin, shaped by gaze, norms, and projections.
Her practice combines photography, painting, and writing within a fragmented visual language. The body never appears as a whole, but through fragments, altered surfaces, and areas of erasure, where identity is recomposed outside of any linear narrative. These forms become spaces of tension, silence, and transformation.
Rooted in a continuum of Black feminist thought, her research questions visibility, intimacy, and the archives of the body. Oscillating between presence and withdrawal, Haoua explores what persists when the external gaze fades, and what can emerge when the body begins to look at itself from within.
Her work has been exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum (New York), COCA – Center of Contemporary Art (Grottaglie), Salon de Montrouge, Sunny Art Prize (London), Artroom London, NDSM Fuse (Amsterdam), and Residency Unlimited (New York), among others.

Le travail de Haoua s’ancre dans une trajectoire marquée par le déplacement. D’origine tchadienne et française, ayant grandi à Dakar, elle hérite d’une culture nomade issue de son histoire familiale, qui traverse sa pratique comme une structure profonde.
Elle développe une recherche habitée par une culture du mouvement et de la transformation. Le corps y est envisagé comme un territoire mobile, porteur d’une mémoire vécue et sociale, structuré par l’idée de double peau : une peau biologique, intime et incarnée, et une peau sociale, façonnée par le regard, les normes et les projections.
Sa pratique mêle photographie, peinture et écriture au sein d’un langage plastique fragmenté. Le corps n’y apparaît jamais comme une totalité, mais à travers des fragments, des surfaces altérées et des zones d’effacement, où l’identité se recompose hors de toute narration linéaire. Ces formes deviennent des espaces de tension, de silence et de transformation.
Inscrite dans une continuité de pensées féministes noires, sa recherche interroge la visibilité, l’intimité et les archives du corps. En oscillant entre présence et retrait, Haoua explore ce qui persiste lorsque le regard extérieur s’efface, et ce qui peut émerger lorsque le corps commence à se regarder depuis l’intérieur.
Son travail a été exposé entre autre au Brooklyn Museum (New York), au COCA – Center of Contemporary Art (Grottaglie), au Salon de Montrouge, au Sunny Art Prize (Londres), ainsi qu’à Artroom London, NDSM Fuse (Amsterdam) et Residency Unlimited (New York).
